ECF-R cell line is a bird cell line derived from embryonic tissues of Gallus gallus. This cell line displays distinct fibroblast-like characteristics, including a spindle-shaped or occasionally star-shaped flat structure during in vitro propagation. Transcriptome analysis reveals that NINJURIN2 and CD44 are highly expressed in the ECF-R cell line. ECF-R cells exhibit documented tumorigenic capacity and demonstrate measurable metastatic potential when evaluated in standardized experimental models. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

ECF-R cells serve as an in vitro cell model to study cellular senescence mechanisms. This finite cell line is particularly applicable for studying molecular pathways underlying replicative senescence and aging. For example, by analyzing senescence-associated biomarkers and gene expression changes during its limited proliferative lifespan, ECF-R cells provide insights into fibroblast aging processes relevant to understanding tissue degeneration and age-related pathologies.
