This cell line is derived from a male donor with Gaucher disease type 1, a lysosomal storage disorder caused by a deficiency in the enzyme glucocerebrosidase. The disorder leads to the accumulation of glucocerebroside in multiple organs, including the spleen, liver, and bone marrow. These cells are suitable for studying the molecular mechanisms underlying Gaucher disease and testing potential therapeutic treatments.
