Human Adrenal Fibroblasts from AcceGen Research Laboratories are isolated from human adrenal tissue.
Human Adrenal Fibroblasts are primary cells isolated from healthy human adrenal tissue. Following primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. These cells exhibit a characteristic spindle-shaped morphology and perform essential physiological functions including extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis, tissue architecture maintenance, and modulation of inflammatory responses within the adrenal microenvironment. Studies have established their pathological involvement in adrenal insufficiency and adrenal tumor progression. These fibroblasts express vimentin and collagen type I, well-recognized adrenal fibroblast markers for the identification and characterization of this cell type. To preserve optimal cell functionality and viability, repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided during culture. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Human Adrenal Fibroblasts serve as a critical in vitro model to study stromal dysfunction in adrenal diseases such as pheochromocytoma and adrenal carcinoma. These cells are particularly valuable for investigating signaling pathways regulating extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and fibrosis. Researchers also utilize this model to elucidate molecular mechanisms driving tumor desmoplasia and hormone dysregulation. This provides insight into microenvironment-mediated disease progression and enables screening of anti-fibrotic drugs or novel therapeutics targeting adrenal tumor stroma.
