Human Choroid Plexus Fibroblasts from AcceGen Research Laboratories are isolated from human choroid pluxus.
Human Choroid Plexus Fibroblasts (HCPFs) are isolated from the human choroid plexus. They exhibit typical fibroblast-like adherent growth morphology. After isolation, the cells are cryopreserved at early passage to preserve viability and function. HCPFs are mesenchymal cells originating from the embryonic mesoderm and are characterized by their secretion of extracellular matrix components, particularly collagen types I and III. They contribute to the structural integrity of the choroid plexus. These cells express fibronectin and vimentin. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, syphilis, mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

Human Choroid Plexus Fibroblasts are used as a research tool for investigating cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) production, blood-CSF barrier function, and central nervous system (CNS) inflammation. They contribute to understanding fibrosis and extracellular matrix remodeling in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions. These cells support studies on brain injury response, neuroimmunology, and CNS-targeted drug transport systems.
