Human HIV-2 Leukopak provides enriched leukocytes from HIV-2-positive donors, suitable for antiviral research, immune profiling, and vaccine development.
Human HIV-2 Leukopak is collected by leukapheresis from donors infected with HIV-2, a lentivirus genetically distinct from HIV-1. HIV-2 exhibits lower viral loads and slower disease progression than HIV-1, attributed to more effective host immune control. Studies using HIV-2 leukopaks have provided insight into T cell preservation, elite control, and immune exhaustion differences compared to HIV-1. This product is essential for comparative immunology and for evaluating vaccine or cure strategies in non-HIV-1 contexts. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Human HIV-2 Leukopak offers researchers access to rare immune cell samples from HIV-2-infected donors. These cells are important for studying slower disease progression, immune control mechanisms, and differences in viral-host interactions compared to HIV-1. The high cell numbers obtained from leukopaks make this resource well-suited for longitudinal immune monitoring, antiviral research, and comparative immunological analysis.
