Description

Human Hypothyroidism Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) are derived from the peripheral blood of patients with hypothyroidism which is a deficiency of thyroid hormones (T3/T4) causing systemic hypometabolism. These PBMCs contain lymphocytes (T cells, B cells, NK cells) and monocytes. They exhibit typical mononuclear morphology and participate in immune regulation and inflammatory response, among which lymphocytes dominate adaptive immunity (such as antibody production and cytotoxicity), and monocytes can differentiate into macrophages or dendritic cells, participating in innate immunity and antigen presentation. When thyroid function is hypo, the immune function of PBMCs may be abnormal, manifested as an imbalance in the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines (such as IL-6 and TNF-α), or T cell-mediated thyroid tissue damage associated with autoimmune thyroiditis. Their functional abnormalities are linked to autoimmune thyroiditis and immune-mediated thyroid tissue damage. In translational research, these PBMCs are widely used to analyze immune modulation and inflammatory markers, characterize adaptive immune responses, perform comprehensive PBMC profiling, and evaluate immune-targeted therapeutic strategies in hypothyroidism.

Application

  • Human Hypothyroidism Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells can be used as in vitro cell models to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of autoimmune thyroiditis, which helps develop targeted therapeutic strategies. In addition, they can also be used for drug screening, such as testing the inhibitory effects of immunomodulatory drugs on inflammatory factors.
