Description

Human Lung Fibroblasts, Foetal (HLF) are primary mesenchymal cells isolated from normal fetal lung parenchyma. These cells exhibit an elongated spindle-shaped morphology and play essential roles in extracellular matrix production, alveolar development, and tissue remodeling during lung morphogenesis. Foetal lung fibroblasts secrete collagen I, fibronectin, and glycosaminoglycans, contributing to structural support and epithelial–mesenchymal signaling. They are also responsive to pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TGF-β and IL-1β, making them a suitable model for studying fibrogenesis and early-life lung inflammation. Cryopreserved at early passage, AcceGen's HLF retain native morphology and functional responsiveness, enabling applications in pulmonary development research, fibrosis modeling, and regenerative studies. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • HLF are ideal for research on lung development, fibrotic remodeling, and epithelial–stromal interactions. They support studies of matrix deposition, TGF-β–driven fibrosis, and myofibroblast differentiation relevant to neonatal lung diseases. HLF can also be used in co-culture systems or 3D lung tissue models to evaluate fibroblast–epithelium crosstalk, drug screening for anti-fibrotic therapies, and investigations into inflammation-induced remodeling during prenatal and perinatal stages.
