Description

Human Mammary Fibroblasts are primary cells isolated from healthy adult breast stromal tissue, obtained with informed donor consent. These fibroblasts exhibit a classic mesenchymal spindle-shaped morphology and are cryopreserved at an early passage to preserve their native state. In culture, they express fibroblast marker vimentin (VIM). Normal mammary fibroblasts play a crucial role in branching morphogenesis during gland development, secrete extracellular matrix components like collagen and fibronectin, and regulate epithelial behavior through paracrine signaling. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Mammary Fibroblasts are ideal for in vitro studies exploring stromal–epithelial interactions, extracellular matrix remodeling, and stromal contributions to breast development and disease. They are widely used in 3D co-culture models to examine normal branching morphogenesis and tumor-stroma crosstalk, as well as to investigate how fibroblast-derived VEGF drives angiogenesis under hypoxic conditions in breast tissue. These cells also serve as critical controls in cancer-associated fibroblast (CAF) studies, helping to decipher how stromal reprogramming contributes to tumor progression, invasion, fibrosis, and therapy resistance.
