Description

Human Monocytes from Peripheral Blood, Single Donor, Pre-screened are primary immune cells freshly isolated from the peripheral blood of a healthy adult donor. These cells exhibit characteristic morphology with a large, bean-shaped nucleus and moderate cytoplasmic granularity. In flow cytometry, they are typically CD14+CD16− (classical subset). Monocytes are one of the key components of the innate immune system, capable of differentiating into macrophages or dendritic cells under specific cytokine stimulation. These single donor human monocytes play central roles in antigen presentation, phagocytosis, and cytokine production in response to pathogens or tissue injury. As non-immortalized primary cells, monocytes are non-proliferative and should be used promptly after thawing to preserve functional integrity. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human monocytes are widely used in immunology, inflammation, and infectious disease research. In vitro, they serve as models for studying innate immune responses, cytokine signaling (e.g., IL-1β, TNF-α), and monocyte-to-macrophage differentiation. Researchers use them to evaluate toll-like receptor (TLR) activation pathways, pathogen recognition, and interactions with tumor cells in immuno-oncology models. They are also frequently used to generate M1 or M2 macrophages, enabling studies on polarization in autoimmunity, fibrosis, or cancer progression. Their human-relevant responses support drug discovery applications, particularly for screening anti-inflammatory compounds or evaluating immunomodulators in systems mimicking tumor microenvironments, infectious diseases, or autoimmune conditions.
