Description

Human Osteoblast Cells, Prenatal are primary cells isolated from prenatal human bone tissue. These non-immortalized cells exhibit characteristic polygonal morphology and form tightly packed monolayers in culture. These cells are cryopreserved at an early passage to preserve their native physiological properties. Phenotypically, they demonstrate high alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity. Compared to adult counterparts, fetal osteoblasts proliferate more rapidly and initiate mineralized nodule formation earlier, making them ideal for modeling early bone development and regeneration. These cells show time-dependent upregulation of osteocalcin, osterix (Sp7), and RUNX2 during differentiation. Due to their primary nature, these cells have limited lifespans and are not suitable for long-term passaging. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Prenatal osteoblasts from AcceGen are invaluable for in vitro studies of bone formation, mineralization, and developmental biology. These prenatal human osteoblasts serve as a robust cellular model for examining osteogenic differentiation pathways, testing biomaterial compatibility, and screening osteoinductive compounds. Their rapid proliferation and early mineralization profile also make them powerful for investigation in areas including congenital skeletal disorders, regenerative biology and tissue engineering strategies.
