Description

Human Pulmonary Artery Endothelial Cells (HPAEC) are primary endothelial cells isolated from the intimal layer of pulmonary arteries obtained from healthy adult donors. Cells are collected under sterile conditions. HPAEC display typical cobblestone morphology and form adherent monolayers. Cryopreserved at early passage, they retain phenotypic stability and functional responsiveness. These cells are essential regulators of pulmonary vascular tone, leukocyte trafficking, and endothelial barrier function, especially under hypoxic or inflammatory conditions. HPAEC express endothelial-specific markers including CD31, VE-cadherin, and von Willebrand factor. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • HPAEC are widely used in pulmonary and vascular research to study endothelial function, barrier regulation, and hypoxia-induced remodeling. They provide a robust in vitro model for investigating pulmonary hypertension, acute lung injury, and vascular inflammation. HPAEC also support drug discovery efforts aimed at modulating leukocyte adhesion, permeability, and vasoreactivity, making them valuable tools in both mechanistic studies and therapeutic screening for cardiopulmonary diseases.
