Human Renal Mixed Epithelial Cells provide kidney-derived epithelial cells ideal for renal physiology, nephrotoxicity, and disease mechanism studies.
Human Renal Mixed Epithelial Cells are isolated from human kidney tissue. Cryopreserved at early passage, these cells exhibit a cuboidal morphology with a characteristic cobblestone pattern and show adherent growth. These renal cells collectively contribute to renal functions including solute reabsorption, water balance, and waste secretion, making them relevant to studies on generalized kidney injury, polycystic kidney disease, and renal fibrosis. They express cytokeratin 18, and maintain a normal human karyotype. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Human Renal Mixed Epithelial Cells act as an in vitro model to study integrated renal epithelial functions and pathogenesis of diseases like renal fibrosis. For example, by investigating intercellular crosstalk and shared molecular pathways in ion transport and injury responses, they enhance understanding of coordinated renal epithelial physiology and pathological changes, aiding in exploring treatments for complex kidney disorders.
