Leverage Human Renal Prox Tub Epithelial Cells-Diabetic Type II to study diabetic kidney pathology, glucose metabolism, and renal epithelial function.
Human Renal Prox Tub Epithelial Cells-Diabetic Type II are the primary functional cells of the renal proximal tubule and are typically derived from human kidney tissues. In vitro culture of these cells reveals a typical epithelial morphology, characterized by a polygonal or cobblestone-like arrangement. Functionally, they participate in essential tubular transport processes—such as the reabsorption of glucose, electrolytes, and small molecules—and secrete inflammatory mediators including IL-6, IL-8, and chemokines, contributing to tubular inflammatory responses observed in renal immune injury. Metabolic disorders associated with type 2 diabetes, such as hyperglycemia, can further exacerbate oxidative stress and apoptosis of these cells, serving as a key driving factor for tubulointerstitial fibrosis in diabetic nephropathy. These cells facilitate mechanistic studies of proximal tubule dysfunction in diabetes and the interplay between tubular injury and the renal vasculature diabetic type 2 microenvironment. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Human Renal Prox Tub Epithelial Cells-Diabetic Type II can be used to evaluate high glucose-induced oxidative stress, inflammatory response, and fibrosis. In addition, these cells are also used to test the renal protective effects of new anti-diabetic drugs (such as SGLT2 inhibitors and antioxidants), and to explore the mechanism by which metabolic disorders in diabetic nephropathy damage tubular function.
