Description

Human Sertoli Cells (HSerC) are isolated from testicular seminiferous tubules and consist of somatic cells essential for supporting spermatogenesis. These cells exhibit typical polygonal morphology and adhere firmly during culture. Functionally, Sertoli cells provide physical support, nutritional supply, and immunological protection to developing germ cells, playing a critical role in male fertility and testicular homeostasis. Genetic characterization confirms a stable karyotype and high expression of Sertoli-specific markers such as SOX9 and GATA4. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Sertoli cells (HSerCs), also referred to as primary human testicular Sertoli cells and human seminiferous tubule cells, play a crucial role in spermatogenesis and serve as a relevant model for studying male infertility, testicular toxicology, and cellular interactions within the testis. Given their ability to mimic the testicular microenvironment, hSerCs provide a valuable in vitro system for evaluating the impact of pharmaceuticals, endocrine disruptors, and environmental toxins on male reproductive health. HSerCs enable researchers to uncover novel mechanisms underlying spermatogenic dysfunction, identify potential therapeutic targets, and contribute to the development of strategies for preserving fertility.
