Description

Human Synovial Stromal Cells (hSSCs) are isolated from the connective tissue of the human synovial membrane lining joint cavities. These mesenchymal stromal cells exhibit a spindle-shaped, fibroblast-like morphology and adherent growth in culture with robust proliferation capacity over multiple passages. hSSCs play vital roles in joint homeostasis, extracellular matrix remodeling, and immunomodulation within the synovial environment. They express characteristic mesenchymal markers including CD90, CD73, and CD105. Karyotype analysis confirms genomic stability. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Synovial Stromal Cells (hSSCs) represent a versatile cellular model for regenerative medicine applications and joint disease research. As primary human synoviocytes representing human joint mesenchymal stromal cells, these cells play a crucial role in cartilage repair mechanisms, making them particularly valuable for studying osteoarthritis progression and developing tissue engineering strategies for joint regeneration. Their multipotent differentiation capacity enables investigations into chondrogenesis and mesenchymal differentiation pathways, while their immunomodulatory properties provide insights into synovial inflammation regulation. hSSCs serve as a physiologically relevant platform for evaluating disease-modifying therapeutics targeting synovitis and cartilage degradation.
