Description

Human Tonsil Fibroblasts (hTFs) are isolated from the stromal connective tissue of human palatine tonsils obtained during routine tonsillectomy procedures. These cells are spindle-shaped and adherent in culture, displaying typical fibroblastic morphology and robust proliferative capacity under standard conditions. hTFs contribute to the extracellular matrix (ECM) structure of tonsillar tissue and support lymphoid architecture through the secretion of structural proteins such as collagen types I and III, fibronectin, and various cytokines. They express mesenchymal markers such as vimentin and CD90, confirming lineage specificity. Karyotype analysis demonstrates genetic stability in early passages. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human tonsil fibroblasts (hTFs) provide a specialized model for investigating the structural and immunological functions of lymphoid tissue stroma. As primary human tonsillar stromal cells representing human lymphoid tissue fibroblasts, these cells play a crucial role in maintaining the architecture of secondary lymphoid organ architecture and regulating immune responses through dynamic stromal-immune cell interactions. Their application is particularly valuable for studying extracellular matrix remodeling during chronic inflammation and fibrosis in tonsillar tissue. hTFs serve as an essential component in co-culture systems to examine T cell activation dynamics and immune synapse formation within lymphoid microenvironments.
