LB4 is a human B lymphocyte cell line derived from a female patient diagnosed with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). The cells exhibit lymphoblast-like morphology and grow in suspension culture, with a subset forming multinucleated aggregates. LB4 retains the molecular features of PNH B cells, including complement sensitivity and clonal expansion of hematopoietic progenitors, making it a reliable model for studying immune-mediated hemolysis, B-cell pathology, and hematologic disorders. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.
