Mouse podocytes, 2-week ICR mouse.
Mouse Podocytes are primary cells isolated from the renal glomerular tissue of healthy mice. As specialized epithelial cells, they form the filtration barrier in the glomerulus, exhibiting a characteristic arborized or cobblestone-like morphology essential for maintaining the kidney filtration barrier. Functionally, podocytes maintain glomerular filtration integrity by regulating macromolecular permeability. Their dysfunction is central to glomerular diseases such as nephrotic syndrome and diabetic kidney disease. These mouse podocytes express podocyte-specific marker nephrin. These post-mitotic cells have limited proliferative capacity in vitro. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Mouse Podocytes serve as an in vitro cell model to study the pathogenesis of glomerular diseases, such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), diabetic nephropathy, and lupus nephritis. They enable researchers to investigate foot process effacement, slit diaphragm protein expression, and response to inflammatory cytokines or metabolic stress, thereby gaining insights into molecular pathways underlying podocyte dysfunction. This supports discovery research and molecular target identification related to proteinuric kidney diseases and renal fibrosis associated with aberrant podocyte physiology in maintaining glomerular filtration barrier integrity and pathological dysregulation in disease.

1. The primary mouse podocytes are isolated through glomerular screening combined with differential adhesion techniques.
2.The cells are confirmed positive for PCK or WT-1 (Wilm’s Tumor Protein) via immunofluorescence staining, with a purity of over 90%.
