Fluorescent Marker: EGFP-H2B Percentage of expressing cells: close to 100%. Expression level: This clonal stable cell line shows some variegation.
NRK EGFP-H2B is a stably transfected rat (Rattus norvegicus, Osborne-Mendel strain) kidney epithelial cell line that expresses a nuclear-localized EGFP-histone H2B fusion protein. Derived from the spontaneously immortalized NRK cell line, these cells were transfected with a circular plasmid and selected with G418. They exhibit adherent and fibroblast-like morphology. These cells express bright nuclear EGFP fluorescence throughout the cell cycle. This stable line is ideal for live-cell imaging of chromatin dynamics, mitosis, and nuclear structure. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

NRK EGFP-H2B is a powerful tool for live-cell imaging of chromatin behavior, mitotic progression, and nuclear organization. Its stable, bright nuclear fluorescence enables high-resolution microscopy techniques such as time-lapse imaging, FRAP, cell tracking, and quantitative analysis of chromatin dynamics under stress or drug treatments. This Histone H2B-labeled NRK cell line is ideal for studying cell cycle regulation, DNA damage response, epigenetic modifiers, and chromatin-condensation mechanisms. Its consistent expression and healthy epithelial phenotype also make it suitable for high-throughput screening, drug discovery, and cell-based assays in renal and general cell biology contexts.
