Description

Porcine Pulmonary Artery Endothelial Cells (PPAEC) are primary endothelial cells isolated from the pulmonary artery of healthy swine. Cells are harvested under sterile conditions from normal vascular tissue. They exhibit cobblestone morphology and grow adherently as a monolayer. PPAEC are cryopreserved at early passage to preserve phenotype and viability. These cells regulate pulmonary vascular tone, respond to hypoxia, and form selective barriers in the lung vasculature. They express characteristic endothelial markers such as CD31, von Willebrand factor (vWF), and VE-cadherin. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • PPAEC are widely applied in cardiovascular and pulmonary research to investigate endothelial function, permeability, and cellular response to hypoxic stress. These cells serve as an in vitro model for studying pulmonary hypertension, endothelial inflammation, and vascular remodeling. PPAEC are also suitable for evaluating therapeutic agents targeting endothelial dysfunction, barrier integrity, and angiogenic signaling pathways in lung-associated vascular diseases, supporting both basic and translational studies focused on pulmonary vascular biology.
