Description

Rabbit Aortic Fibroblasts (RAF) are primary fibroblast cells isolated from the aortic wall of healthy rabbits. These cells are collected under sterile conditions and cryopreserved at early passage. They exhibit elongated spindle-shaped morphology and grow as adherent monolayers. Isolated from normal vascular connective tissue, these cells exhibit properties associated with extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and fibrotic signaling pathways in vitro. Rabbit Aortic Fibroblasts express vimentin. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • RAF are commonly used in vascular and fibrotic disease research to investigate extracellular matrix remodeling, fibroblast activation, and fibrosis-associated signaling pathways. They serve as in vitro models for studying vascular stiffening, adventitial remodeling, and fibrotic progression in cardiovascular disease. RAF are also applied in screening anti-fibrotic compounds, assessing ECM-modulating therapies, and exploring cell–matrix interactions relevant to tissue repair and vascular pathology.
