Description

The sulforhodamine B (SRB) colorimetric assay is primarily used to monitor cell proliferation. SRB is a pink anionic dye that is readily soluble in water and specifically binds to basic amino acids in intracellular proteins under acidic conditions. Its absorbance peak is at 515 nm, and the absorbance is linearly correlated with cell mass, making it suitable for quantitative cell count.
