THP-1 eGFP/ Luciferase Cell Line is a dual-reporter human monocytic cell line engineered for stable co-expression of enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP) and luciferase (Luc). Derived from THP-1 cells, it maintains key native THP-1 characteristics, such as the capacity to upregulate CD14 upon differentiation and PMA-induced differentiation into macrophage-like cells while providing both fluorescent and bioluminescent tracking capabilities. The eGFP marker enables real-time visualization of cell localization and migration through fluorescence imaging, while the luciferase reporter allows sensitive quantitative detection of cell proliferation and viability in vitro and in vivo. Particularly valuable for immunological studies and cancer research, this dual-reporter system permits cross-validation between fluorescence microscopy and bioluminescence imaging (BLI) techniques. Cells exhibit stable expression of both reporters when maintained at low passage numbers (<P20), ensuring experimental reproducibility. The cells are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast and Bacteria.
