XrS6 is a CHO-derived cell line hypersensitive to ionizing radiation, ideal for DNA damage response and radiation biology applications in hamster models.
Hamster Chinese ovary. Derived from the parent line CHO-K1 and is hypersensitive to ionising radiation but not to UV irradiation. Cells may revert to wild-type after 1-2 weeks in culture. They should be checked for sensitivity and recloned when necessary.
