BALB/c Mouse Cardiac Endothelial Cells from AcceGen are isolated from tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice.
BALB/c Mouse Cardiac Endothelial Cells (cMVECs) are isolated from the cardiac tissue of BALB/c mice. These primary cells form a monolayer of flat epithelial cells lining the cardiac microvasculature and play critical roles in regulating vascular tension, blood pressure, and thrombosis prevention. Functionally, they are implicated in cardiovascular pathologies such as viral myocarditis (e.g., Coxsackievirus B3 infection) and myocardial fibrosis, where endothelial activation drives inflammation and tissue remodeling. The cells exhibit a cobblestone or irregular elongated morphology and adhere tightly to culture surfaces. They are identified by high CD31 expression. cMVECs have limited proliferative capacity in vitro; they are cryopreserved post-isolation to maintain viability. These cells also contribute to nitric oxide production and vascular homeostasis, essential for studying endothelial dysfunction in cardiac diseases. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

BALB/c Mouse Cardiac Endothelial Cells (cMVECs) serve as a physiologically relevant in vitro model for studying cardiovascular pathologies, making them highly suitable for BALB/c mouse heart endothelial cell physiology research, including viral myocarditis pathogenesis, where they enable analysis of endothelial activation, leukocyte adhesion, and cytokine-driven fibrosis. cMVECs facilitate research on cardiac transplant rejection mechanisms, particularly in modeling donor-recipient endothelial interactions, immune cell infiltration (e.g., macrophages), and therapeutic strategies. Additionally, cMVECs are useful for evaluating oxidative stress responses and endothelial barrier integrity under pathological conditions.
