Mouse primary cardiac fibroblasts are isolated from tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice.
BALB/c Mouse Heart Fibroblasts are primary fibroblast cells isolated from the cardiac tissue of BALB/c mice (Mus musculus), widely used pathogen-free laboratory mice. These cells are derived specifically from the heart and exhibit a spindle-shaped morphology typical of fibroblasts. They adhere well to standard culture substrates and exhibit a characteristic monolayer growth pattern. Fibroblasts are critical components of connective tissue and play a pivotal role in extracellular matrix production and tissue remodeling. These heart-derived fibroblasts are non-tumorigenic and primarily used at early passage numbers to ensure phenotypic stability and physiological relevance. Due to their tissue-specific origin, they retain key features of cardiac fibroblasts, including responsiveness to fibrotic and inflammatory stimuli. Cytogenetic analysis reveals a normal murine karyotype, and the cells express fibroblast markers such as vimentin and fibronectin. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

BALB/c Mouse Heart Fibroblasts serve as a valuable model for investigating cardiac fibrosis, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and tissue remodeling. They are widely used in fibrosis research, cardiovascular drug screening (particularly for evaluating anti-fibrotic and anti-inflammatory compounds), and studies involving cell-cell interactions, genetic and epigenetic regulation, and in vitro models of myocardial infarction. Their well-characterized phenotype and consistent response to profibrotic stimuli make them ideal for both academic research and preclinical pharmaceutical development.
