Description

BALB/c Mouse Liver Fibroblasts are primary fibroblast cells isolated from the interstitial connective tissue of the liver in BALB/c mice (Mus musculus). These fibroblasts are responsible for producing extracellular matrix (ECM) components and contribute to liver architecture, wound repair, and fibrotic processes. In vitro, the cells exhibit typical spindle-shaped fibroblastic morphology, show adherence to culture surfaces, and proliferate rapidly in monolayer culture. The cells are validated for the expression of fibroblast markers, including vimentin and fibroblast-specific protein 1 (FSP1). Karyotype analysis confirms genetic stability. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • BALB/c Mouse Liver Fibroblasts serve as an essential model for liver fibrosis research, including studies of hepatic stellate cell–fibroblast interactions and extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition, investigations of TGF-β signaling and fibroblast activation, modeling chronic liver injury, and studying liver microenvironment dynamics using in vitro co-culture systems with hepatocytes or immune cells. They are also widely used for drug testing and screening. These cells provide a reliable tool for elucidating fibroblast roles in liver structure, repair, and fibrotic disease.
