Mouse liver fibroblasts are isolated from tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice.
C57BL/6 Mouse Liver Fibroblasts are primary cells isolated from the liver tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice, serving as a pivotal model for mouse liver fibrosis research. These cells primarily reside within the stromal connective tissue of Glisson’s capsule and perisinusoidal spaces of Disse in the liver parenchyma, where they mediate extracellular matrix homeostasis. Following primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. The cells mediate extracellular matrix remodeling, fibrogenesis, and inflammation modulation. Studies demonstrate their implication in alcoholic liver disease, cholestatic fibrosis, and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) fibrosis via hedgehog pathway activation. Phenotypic validation is confirmed by fibroblast-specific protein 1 (FSP1/S100A4), demonstrating their characteristic fibroblast morphology and function. For optimal performance, repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided during culture. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

C57BL/6 Mouse Liver Fibroblasts can be used as an in vitro model to study the pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis in disease conditions such as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and cholestatic liver disease. Researchers can investigate disease mechanisms including extracellular matrix accumulation in NASH, α-SMA⁺ myofibroblast differentiation in cholestatic liver disease, and fibrotic septum formation in progressive fibrosis.
