Astrocytes are the majority cell type of the mammalian brain.
CD-1 Mouse Cerebellar Astrocytes are primary glial cells isolated from the cerebellum of healthy CD-1 mice with no neurological disease history. They exhibit stellate morphology typical of CNS astroglia and support Purkinje cells and neurons in the cerebellar microenvironment. These astrocytes express GFAP and serve as a reliable in vitro model for syudying glial cell function in the CD-1 mouse cerebellum and cerebellar neurobiology. To ensure the quality of these primary cells, repeated freeze-thawcycles are not recommended due to the fragile nature of these cells. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

CD-1 Mouse Cerebellar Astrocytes are essential for investigations into cerebellar development, synaptic regulation, and glial-neuronal interactions specific to motor coordination and balance. They serve as an excellent model to study astrocyte involvement in cerebellar disorders such as ataxias and neuroinflammation. These cells support diverse assays including calcium signaling, cytokine and growth factor secretion, gene expression profiling, and immunocytochemistry. They are making them invaluable for both basic neuroscience and CD-1 mouse neurological research.
