Mouse Embryonic Fibroblasts (MEF) are used to support the growth of undifferentiated mouse or human ES and iPS cells.
CD-1 Mouse Embryonic Fibroblasts (MEFs) are primary fibroblasts isolated from embryos of healthy, pathogen-free CD-1 mice using enzymatic digestion and mechanical dissociation to preserve viability and native function. MEFs exhibit typical spindle-shaped morphology, adhere robustly, and proliferate well under defined culture conditions, providing a valuable model for studying cell signaling pathways in CD-1 mice. They serve as a physiologically relevant feeder layer by secreting extracellular matrix proteins and growth factors essential for maintaining mouse and human pluripotent stem cell pluripotency. MEFs serve as reliable, high-quality support cells for stem cell research and related applications. To ensure the quality of these primary cells, repeated freeze-thawcycles are not recommended due to the fragile nature of these cells. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

MEFs from AcceGen serve as an indispensable feeder layer in pluripotent stem cell research, supporting undifferentiated growth of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). They contribute essential extracellular signals and matrix support, facilitating experiments in stem cell maintenance, differentiation protocols, reprogramming, and developmental biology. The high viability and standardized culture conditions ensure reproducible results across experiments.
