CD-1 Mouse Neurons ventral spinal cord support neurobiology studies, motor neuron function, excitatory signaling research, and neurodegeneration models.
CD-1 Mouse Neurons (Ventral Spinal Cord) are primary neuronal cells isolated from the ventral spinal cord of CD-1 mice. These cells predominantly include motor neurons, a specialized subset of neurons responsible for transmitting signals from the spinal cord to muscles. Cells were cryopreserved at passages 1–3 to preserve primary characteristics, and exhibit a characteristic multipolar morphology in culture. Ventral spinal cord neurons are post-mitotic and do not proliferate in vitro. Standard G‑banding karyotype analysis confirmed a normal diploid chromosome number (2n = 40) typical of CD-1 mice, with no detectable abnormalities. These neurons express markers such as ChAT (choline acetyltransferase), Islet-1, and HB9. Functionally, they serve as a valuable tool for modeling neurodegenerative diseases, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and for investigating mechanisms of synaptic transmission, axon guidance, neuronal excitability, and the organization of neural circuits in CD-1 mouse ventral spinal cord. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

CD-1 Mouse Ventral Spinal Cord Neurons provide a robust in vitro model to investigate motor neuron biology and spinal cord pathologies. They are widely used in neurotoxicity assays, electrophysiological studies, and ALS-related research. For instance, they have been employed to study excitotoxicity and glutamate-mediated neuronal injury, which are pivotal in ALS pathogenesis. Their ability to respond to trophic factors and neurotrophic signaling makes them an ideal system for preclinical screening of neuroprotective compounds.
