CD-1 Mouse Oligodendrocyte Precursor Cells from AcceGen provide essential models for neural development, myelination, and regenerative applications.
CD-1 Mouse Oligodendrocyte Precursor Cells (OPCs) are isolated from the cerebral cortex of CD-1 mice. The OPCs are derived from healthy, pathogen-free CD-1 mice without induced pathology. These cells are a type of glial progenitor cell that give rise to oligodendrocytes, the myelin-producing cells of the central nervous system. After isolation, OPCs were cryopreserved at passage 1–3 to retain primary characteristics. In culture, they exhibit a bipolar morphology with dynamic process extension. CD-1 OPCs express lineage-specific markers such as NG2, PDGFRα, and Olig2. These cells are critical for studying demyelinating diseases and neuroinflammation, including models of multiple sclerosis and perinatal white matter injury, and for investigating mechanisms related to the CD-1 mouse immune response in the central nervous system. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

CD-1 Mouse Oligodendrocyte Precursor Cells are ideal for in vitro studies related to myelination, glial cell development, and neurodegenerative conditions. These cells serve as a robust model for investigating remyelination mechanisms following CNS injury or demyelination, and for screening compounds that influence oligodendrocyte lineage progression. Recent studies have utilized OPCs to better understand the molecular cues regulating differentiation and migration.
