COR-L47 cell line is a human lung cancer model widely used in oncology, drug screening, and research on tumor biology and molecular pathways.
COR-L47 is derived from the bone marrow aspirate of a 67-year-old Caucasian male suffering from small cell lung carcinoma. The cell line is characterized by its suspension growth in vitro, forming loose aggregates or single-cell dispersions in culture rather than adhering to substrates. Morphologically, these cells exhibit a high nucleus-to-cytoplasm ratio, with round to oval nuclei containing fine granular chromatin and inconspicuous nucleoli. It demonstrates tumorigenic potential in experimental xenograft models and may reflect aggressive, metastatic behavior due to its non-adherent growth. The COR-L47 cell line exhibits extensive genomic copy number alterations, with significant amplifications in key genes such as NDUFA6-AS1, NR2F1, and TCF19. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.
