Human Keratinocyte Stem Cell; Frozen Vial and Plated cells are available.
HighQC™ Human Keratinocyte Stem Cells are isolated from healthy human epidermal tissue and represent a stem-like basal subpopulation essential for epidermal renewal and repair. These cells display a small, cobblestone-like or keratinocyte-like morphology and express basal keratinocyte markers such as Keratin 19, CD 34, CD 117, Nestin. They are enriched and maintained under feeder-free, serum-free conditions that preserve their proliferative potential and multipotent differentiation capacity. Their stemness is supported by the expression of integrins (e.g., α6, β1) and the absence of differentiation markers like involucrin in undifferentiated states. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, syphilis, mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

HighQC™ Human Keratinocyte Stem Cells serve as an ideal model for studying epidermal development, wound healing, skin aging, and dermatological diseases such as psoriasis or squamous cell carcinoma. Their robust proliferative and differentiation potential makes them highly suitable for regenerative medicine, 3D skin equivalents, and drug toxicity testing. These cells, as skin-derived keratinocyte progenitors, also provide a valuable tool for gene editing and pathway analysis in keratinocyte biology.

Human Keratinocyte Stem Cells are stem cells found in the epidermis. They are responsible for regenerating the skin by differentiating into keratinocytes, which form the outer layer of the skin.
They are typically obtained from skin biopsies. These cells are cultured in specialized media that support their growth and maintain their stem cell properties, often containing essential nutrients and growth factors.
They are used in skin regeneration, wound healing, and cosmetic research. They help study skin diseases, develop treatments, and test skincare products.
Key characteristics include colony formation, expression of markers like K15 and p63, and their potential to differentiate into keratinocytes, maintaining healthy growth patterns.
Challenges include maintaining viability, preventing contamination, ensuring consistent differentiation potential, and replicating the in vivo skin environment accurately in vitro.
