Description

Human Keratinocytes, Pooled Neonatal (HKER-PN) are primary epidermal cells derived from the foreskin of multiple healthy neonatal donors. These cells grow as adherent, polygonal epithelial monolayers. They exhibit strong proliferative capacity, uniform epithelial morphology, and robust stratification potential, making them a powerful model in skin research. HKER-PN express basal keratins (K5, K14). Pooling reduces donor variability while preserving physiological responses to cytokines, UV stress, or mechanical injury. These cells are free of feeder layers and cryopreserved at early passage to maintain consistent functionality. HKER-PN provide a reproducible and scalable platform for investigating keratinocyte biology, wound healing, gene editing, and skin barrier restoration. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • HKER‑PN are suitable for 2D or 3D epidermal models, drug toxicity assays, and regenerative dermatology research. They enable reproducible studies on differentiation, proliferation, and epidermal stratification in wound healing, inflammation, or photodamage. HKER‑PN support transfection, viral transduction, and barrier function assays, and are ideal for testing therapeutics targeting keratinocyte-mediated diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, or blistering disorders. Their pooled origin ensures consistent responses across experimental replicates and minimizes donor-specific bias.
