Utilize Human Epidermal Keratinocytes, Foetal for dermatological assays, barrier formation modeling, and fetal keratinocyte stem cell behavior.
Human Epidermal Keratinocytes (HEK), Foetal are isolated from fetal human epidermal tissue and cryopreserved at early passage to ensure high viability. These cells serve as a valuable model for research in skin biology, wound healing, and toxicology, especially in applications related to skin grafting and regeneration. HEK cells can be identified by cytokeratin 18 and 19 expression. HEK cells are capable of up to 15 population doublings in vitro. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided during handling and cultivation to preserve cell integrity. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, syphilis, mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

Human Epidermal Keratinocytes derived from fetal tissue are essential for studying skin development, differentiation, and barrier formation. These cells provide critical insights into epidermal biology and are widely used to model skin diseases, wound healing, and toxicological responses. Their application extends to research in dermatology, regenerative medicine, and cosmetic science for testing compounds affecting skin health and repair.
