Enable Human Lung Lym Endothelial Cells for lung microvascular biology, immune cell trafficking, and pulmonary disease-related vascular research.
Human Lung Lym Endothelial Cells (HLyECs) are primary human microvascular endothelial cells isolated from the lung, specifically enriched from pulmonary lymphatic vessels of healthy donors. These specialized endothelial cells exhibit characteristic cobblestone monolayer morphology and maintain critical lymphatic functions including pulmonary lymph drainage regulation, immune cell trafficking to bronchial lymph nodes, and interstitial fluid balance. These cells serve as a valuable and authentic in vitro model for pulmonary endothelial research, owing to their specialized pulmonary lymphatic endothelial properties and intimate functional connections with the pulmonary vascular system. Their dysfunction contributes to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pulmonary edema, and tumor metastasis via lung lymphatics. The cells are positive for lymphatic-specific markers PROX1, LYVE-1, and VEGFR3. As primary cells, they have limited proliferative capacity and require specialized media. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided during culture. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Human Lung Lym Endothelial Cells serve as a critical in vitro model to study pathological lymphangiogenesis in pulmonary diseases such as metastatic lung cancer and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Studies focusing on VEGF-C/VEGFR3 signaling pathways and tumor cell interactions with LYVE-1/Podoplanin have revealed crucial mechanisms driving tumor metastasis via lung lymphatics and dysfunctional fluid clearance in lung injury.
