Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC) are isolated from normal human umbilical vein.
Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells, Neonatal are primary cells isolated from the umbilical vein of newborns. These cells exhibit a classic endothelial morphology and play a critical role in vascular homeostasis, regulating processes such as angiogenesis, vascular permeability, and immune response through the secretion of cytokines and nitric oxide (NO). These cells are characterized by high expression of CD31. The cells are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, syphilis, mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells, Neonatal are extensively utilized in biomedical research due to their relevance in vascular physiology and pathology. They serve as an in vitro model for studying endothelial barrier function, angiogenesis, and inflammatory responses, making them indispensable in cardiovascular and cancer research. In drug development, they are employed to assess the efficacy and toxicity of novel compounds targeting endothelial dysfunction, such as anti-angiogenic therapies for cancer or vasoprotective agents for atherosclerosis.
