AcceGen offers an assortment of various human and non-human hepatic derived cells.
Plateable DOG (Beagle) Hepatocytes are isolated from liver tissue of the beagle and are cryopreserved after primary culture. They express α-fetoprotein (AFP), HepPar-1 antigen and arginase-1. These hepatocytes are extensively used in pharmacokinetic and toxicological research to evaluate drug metabolism, hepatotoxicity, and liver enzyme activity in canine models. Their use supports veterinary drug development and comparative studies across species. They maintain the capacity to attach and spread in vitro under appropriate culture conditions, making them suitable for short-term liver function assays. Due to their limited proliferative potential, these cells should be handled gently and protected from repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Plateable DOG (Beagle) Hepatocytes are commonly used to evaluate hepatic drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and hepatotoxicity in preclinical models. These cells support cross-species comparison studies in drug development and are suitable for investigating liver enzyme activity, transporter function, and bile acid synthesis. Beagle hepatocytes are valuable for ADME screening, prediction of metabolic stability, and studying liver-specific gene expression in veterinary and comparative medicine.
