Description

Rabbit Lung Endothelial Cells (RLEC) are primary cells isolated from the pulmonary microvasculature of rabbits. These cells display a cobblestone morphology in monolayer culture and form contact-inhibited networks, typical of endothelial phenotypes. Functionally, they contribute to pulmonary vascular barrier integrity, angiogenesis, and leukocyte transmigration. Rabbit lung endothelial cells express vascular markers such as CD31, VE-cadherin, and von Willebrand factor. All cells are cryopreserved at early passage. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • RLEC are used in pulmonary and vascular research to study endothelial barrier function, angiogenesis, and inflammatory cell trafficking. They provide an in vitro model for exploring lung vascular remodeling, permeability regulation, and endothelial dysfunction in conditions such as acute lung injury and pulmonary hypertension. RLEC also support pharmacological screening of compounds targeting endothelial integrity, vascular inflammation, and microvascular dynamics in preclinical studies.
