Description

Rat Hepatic Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells (RHSECs) are specialized endothelial cells isolated from the hepatic microvasculature, specifically the sinusoids of the rat liver. These fenestrated cells line the liver sinusoids and play a critical role in filtration, immune surveillance, and substance exchange between blood and hepatocytes. RHSECs are characterized by their expression of endothelial and liver-specific markers such as CD31, VE-cadherin, stabilin-2, and LYVE-1. They exhibit endocytic activity and respond to inflammatory and fibrogenic stimuli, making them essential players in liver physiology and pathology. AcceGen's RHSECs are cryopreserved at early passage to preserve functional phenotype and viability. To maintain experimental integrity, repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Rat Hepatic Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells (RHSECs) are widely employed in liver research, particularly in studies of hepatic microcirculation, liver inflammation, fibrosis, and drug metabolism. They serve as indispensable components in liver-on-a-chip models and co-culture systems with hepatocytes or Kupffer cells. RHSECs are also valuable for investigating liver-specific endothelial responses to toxins, immune signaling, and therapeutic interventions targeting chronic liver diseases.
