Rat Kidney Epithelial Cells are primary cells isolated from the cortical region of healthy rat kidneys, specifically enriched in renal tubular epithelial populations. These cells exhibit a typical cobblestone morphology and adhere strongly to collagen-coated or standard tissue culture-treated surfaces. Under optimized conditions, they form confluent monolayers with tight junctions and polarized apical-basal orientation. Rat Kidney Epithelial Cells express epithelial-specific markers such as E-cadherin, cytokeratin 18, and aquaporin-1. Cryopreserved at early passage to maintain phenotypic stability, these cells retain high viability upon recovery. To ensure optimal performance, repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.
