Description

Rat Lymphatic Fibroblasts are primary mesenchymal cells isolated from the connective tissue surrounding lymphatic vessels in rats. These cells exhibit a typical spindle-shaped, fibroblast-like morphology and adhere robustly to standard tissue culture plastic surfaces. They play a critical role in maintaining the structural integrity of lymphatic vessels by producing and remodeling extracellular matrix (ECM) components such as collagen and fibronectin. Rat lymphatic fibroblasts express mesenchymal markers including vimentin, fibronectin, and platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR), and may upregulate α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) expression during activation or tissue remodeling. Cryopreserved at early passage, these cells retain high viability and functional characteristics. For optimal results, repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Rat Lymphatic Fibroblasts are widely used to investigate lymphatic vessel remodeling, fibrosis, and tissue repair processes. They serve as a relevant in vitro model to study fibroblast activation, ECM remodeling, and interactions with lymphatic endothelial cells in inflammation, wound healing, and lymphatic dysfunction. These cells also support research into pathological conditions such as lymphedema and cancer-associated lymphatic remodeling, as well as drug screening targeting fibrotic processes.
