Rat Pulmonary Artery Endothelial Cells from AcceGen are isolated from tissue of adult Sprague-Dawley Rats.
Rat Pulmonary Artery Endothelial Cells (RPAECs) are primary cells isolated from the pulmonary arteries of rats, serving as a critical model for studying vascular biology and cardiopulmonary diseases. These cells exhibit a typical endothelial morphology, characterized by a cobblestone-like appearance when confluent and a spindle-shaped or polygonal structure when sparse. RPAECs play a crucial role in maintaining vascular integrity, modulating blood flow, and participating in inflammatory responses. These cells highly express CD31. To ensure the quality of these primary cells, repeated freeze-thaw cycles are not recommended due to the fragile nature of these cells. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Rat Pulmonary Artery Endothelial Cells (RPAECs) are widely used in biomedical research due to their critical role in pulmonary vascular function. These cells serve as an essential in vitro model for studying pulmonary hypertension (PH). Additionally, RPAECs are employed in drug discovery and toxicity testing, particularly for evaluating vasodilatory compounds, anti-inflammatory agents, and endothelial barrier stabilizers.
