Rat uterine stromal cells, 6-week Wistar rat.
Rat Uterine Stromal Cells are isolated from the uterine tissue of rats. Cryopreserved at early passage, these cells exhibit a fibroblast-like, elongated, spindle-shaped, or rounded and polygonal morphology and grow as adherent monolayers. They function in supporting endometrial regeneration, secreting cytokines and extracellular matrix components, and undergoing decidualization during pregnancy, with relevance to studies on endometriosis, uterine fibrosis, and infertility. They express vimentin and progesterone receptors, and maintain a normal diploid karyotype. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Rat Uterine Stromal Cells act as an in vitro model to study uterine physiology and pathogenesis of conditions like endometriosis and infertility. For example, by investigating their role in decidualization (a key process in pregnancy) and molecular pathways involving progesterone signaling, they enhance understanding of stromal cell functions in uterine homeostasis and pathological changes, supporting research into key molecular mechanisms underlying uterine stromal-related reproductive disorders.
