Rat Primary Vein Fibroblasts from AcceGen are isolated from tissue of adult Sprague-Dawley Rats.
Rat Vein Fibroblasts are isolated from the venous adventitia of rats. Cryopreserved at early passage, these cells exhibit a spindle-shaped morphology. They function in producing extracellular matrix components, regulating venous wall remodeling, and interacting with endothelial cells, with relevance to studies on venous fibrosis, varicose veins, and post-thrombotic syndrome. They highly express vimentin, a marker of fibroblasts, and maintain a normal diploid karyotype. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Rat Vein Fibroblasts act as an in vitro model to study venous dysfunction and pathological remodeling in conditions including deep vein thrombosis and chronic venous insufficiency. For example, by examining their roles in extracellular matrix deposition, venous wall remodeling, and inflammatory responses, these cells improve our understanding of venous stromal physiology and pathological changes, supporting research into the molecular mechanisms underlying venous vascular disorders.

These primary rat vein fibroblasts are isolated from the inferior vena cava. They are not derived from lung tissue or pulmonary vasculature.
These cells are primary fibroblasts. They are provided at passage 2–3, and the recommended maximum passage is 2–3 to maintain cellular characteristics and functionality.
