Total Liver Cell Population includes hepatocytes, stellates and progenitors for liver toxicity, metabolism, and fibrosis studies in human or animal models.
Total Liver Cell Population is derived from the whole liver tissue of healthy adult mammals. Cryopreserved after primary dissociation, these cells exhibit diverse morphologies and grow in mixed adherent/suspension cultures. They perform core liver functions like metabolism, detoxification, immune surveillance, and extracellular matrix regulation, making them relevant to studies on liver regeneration, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and drug-induced liver injury. They express specific cell-type markers, and maintain a normal species-specific karyotype. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Total Liver Cell Population can be used as an in vitro model to study hepatic dysfunction in diseases such as liver cirrhosis and hepatitis. For example, by investigating intercellular interactions and shared molecular pathways in metabolism, detoxification, and regeneration, they provide a better understanding of integrated liver functions and pathological changes, aiding in exploring treatments for liver-related disorders.
