Primary Wistar Fetal Rat Cortex Neurons provide an in vitro model for neurodevelopment, neurotoxicity testing, and electrophysiological studies.
Wistar Fetal Rat Cortex Neurons are derived from the cerebral cortex of Wistar fetal rats. Following the primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. They express MAP2 and β-tubulin III. These neurons are widely used for investigating neuronal development, function, and neurotoxicity. They can be cultured and maintained in vitro, where they form functional networks and express neuron-specific markers. The cells are applicable in studying neuronal responses to various stimuli, drug screening, and neurodegenerative disease models. These cells show limited in vitro proliferation and cannot be passaged, so repeated freeze‑thaw cycles should be avoided. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Wistar Fetal Rat Cortex Neurons can be used as an in vitro model for studying neuronal development, neurotoxicity, and synaptic signaling. These neurons are commonly applied in neurodegenerative disease models such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. They enable the investigation of excitotoxicity, oxidative stress, and neuronal-glial interactions, providing insights into nervous system function and potential therapeutic strategies.
