Mouse bone marrow leukocytes (MBMLC) are derived from the tibias and femurs of pathogen-free laboratory adult mice.
BALB/c Mouse Bone Marrow Leukocytes are isolated from the bone marrow of BALB/c mice and serve as representative bone marrow leukocyte models in BALB/c mice. This heterogeneous population includes granulocytes, lymphocytes, monocytes, and progenitor cells, with most cells exhibiting suspension growth . Functionally, these leukocytes mediate critical immune responses such as phagocytosis, antigen presentation, and cytokine production. Phenotypically, they express myeloid markers like CD11b and Ly6G, with leukemia models showing elevated nm23-M1 gene expression linked to disease progression. These primary cells are cryopreserved immediately post-isolation and cannot be passaged in vitro. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

BALB/c bone marrow leukocytes serve as a powerful tool for immunological studies—ranging from pathogen response profiling and myeloid subset analysis to evaluation of antigen presentation and innate immune mechanisms. They are also widely used in functional assays assessing phagocytosis, cytokine secretion, and immune cell activation, providing crucial insights into hematopoietic and inflammatory processes.
