Mouse bone marrow macrophages (MPBMMACs) are derived from the tibias and femurs of pathogen-free laboratory adult mice.
BALB/c Mouse Bone Marrow Macrophages (BMDMs) are isolated from pathogen-free adult BALB/c mice. Functionally, they exhibit robust phagocytosis, immune surveillance, and cytokine secretion (e.g., TNF-α, IL-6), playing critical roles in inflammation, infection response, and tissue homeostasis. They consistently express macrophage surface markers F4/80 and CD11b, but show variable MHC-II expression during culture, making them a relevant model for BALB/c marrow macrophage gene expression studies. These cells are terminally differentiated and non-proliferative; repeated freeze-thaw cycles must be avoided. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

BALB/c Mouse Bone Marrow Macrophages serve as versatile tools for studying innate immunity, including cytokine responses (e.g., LPS/IFNγ-induced M1 or IL-4-driven M2 polarization), pathogen-macrophage interactions, and strain-specific mechanisms of oxidative stress and lysosomal activity, offering insights for disease modeling and therapeutic development. They also facilitate exploration of macrophage metabolism and effector functions under inflammatory and tissue repair conditions, enabling drug screening and immunomodulatory research.
